Boudicca was a brave British Queen who stood up and fought against the Romans- soon after they had invaded Britain. These days, there is a statue dedicated to her in London. Here are 10 facts about Boudicca 1. She was the Queen of the Iceni Tribe The Iceni tribe lived in an area which is now East Anglia in the South East of England. 2. She was very brave She battled against the Romans in 60-61 AD. Can you imagine the strength and courage this must have taken! 3. She destroyed the capital of England! Her forces destroyed the capital of Roman Britain which was then Colchester- not London. 4. She was blood thirsty! In the wars against the Romans, it is thought that 80,000 soldiers were killed. The Romans were scared of her really! 5. She had a gruesome death! Rather than surrendering to the Romans, Boudicca poisoned herself instead of being captured. 6. She also destroyed London! Who was BOUDICCA- Queen of the Iceni?

Blood spilling, blood thirsty and barbaric? All of these terms have been used to describe BOUDICCA Queen of the Iceni. But who was she really? One thing is for certain- she was one of the bravest females that Britain has ever seen and a strong female role model. Let's read on find out more... Who was she? Simply put, Boudicca was a flame haired British Celtic Queen who rebelled against Roman rule. She was married to Prasutagus and had two daughters and lived between the years 25AD until her death in 61AD. She was initially on good terms with the Romans especially when her husband Prasutagus was still alive. Boudicca lived in Norfolk- which was and still is part of East Anglia. Her husband had a good relationship with the Romans and had an agreement with them that when he died, the Romans would split Britain amongst themselves and Prasutagus' own family. He agreed to leave some of the property to the Roman Emperor Nero in order to secure Boudicca's future. ...
